The Backup_Utility is local at the \System_disk\Tools\Backup_utility folder.

Backup_Utility.exe: executable file.
XPAC_Utility1.dll: used with Backup_Utility.exe together
Ionic.Zip.CF.dll: used with Backup_Utility.exe together
PACNET_backup.dll: used with Backup_Utility.exe together
PACSDK_backup.dll: used with Backup_Utility.exe together

Warning!!!
Need to copy Backup_Utility.exe and all *.dll files together 
to WinPAC in the same directory and the Backup_Utility.exe could work.

The timing of the Backup_Utility

1. Backup all the files and settings on the device. 
To prevent data loss when the device damaged or restores any change for files and settings.

2. Restore the files to the device. 
When you want to restore the changes of files.

3. Restore the setting to the device. 
When you want to restore the changes of settings.

4. Clone all the files and setting form the device to other one. 
To reduce the time on setting device and the error that is generated by manually setting.

The backup and restore items mean:

Eboot and OS: The OS image file and Eboot file.(32MB)
Registry: The Registry on the device.
EEPROM: The EEPROM data by user (8K) and system (8k).
SRAM: The SRAM data by user (448K) and system (64k).
System_disk: All the files in the \System_disk folder.

How to use the Backup_Utility.

Backup

To backup the WinPAC/ViewPAC , perform the following steps: 

Step 1: Run the Backup utility from the \System_disk\Tools\Backup_utility¡¨ folder or download the 
files at ftp://ftp.icpdas.com/pub/cd/WinPAC_AM335x/Wp-5231/System_Disk/Tools/backup_utility

Step 2: Click the Backup menu option. 

Step 3: Check the Items you want to backup.(Please reference the backup and restore items mean)

Step 4: Enter the annotation you want to stay and click the ¡§Start backup¡¨ button.

Step 5: Confirm the backup items and click the ¡§Yes¡¨ button.

Step 6: Click the folder that you want to save backup file and click the ¡§Ok¡¨ button.

Step 7: Waiting the backup finish.

Restore

Warnings:
When you restore the System_Disk please close the other program is running.

To restore the WinPAC/ViewPAC, perform the following steps:

Step 1: Run the Backup utility from the \System_disk\Tools\Backup_utility¡¨ folder or download the 
files at ftp://ftp.icpdas.com/pub/cd/WinPAC_AM335x/Wp-5231/System_Disk/Tools/backup_utility

Step 2: Click the Restore menu option.

Step 3: Double click the back up file.

Step 4: Check the Items you want to restore.

Step 5: Click the ¡§Start restore¡¨ button.

Step 6: Confirm the restore items and click the ¡§Yes¡¨ button.

Step 7: Waiting the restore finish and then the device will be reboot.

The message mean:

"The Backup file is an invalid file format": 
The backup file is unable to use.

"The platform used on the backup file is different to that of the device. Do you want to continue restore these items?¡¨: 
To remind user the platform is different (Such as WP8441 to WP8841).

"The platform used on the backup file is different to that of the device.You cannot restore the backup file to this device." : 
To remind user the platform is different (Such as WP8431 to WP8441), so you can not restore the backup file to this device restore.

"The registry should be restored too, since the OS version of the backup file is different to that of the device. Do you want to restored the OS and registry." : 
To remind user have better restore the OS and registry together.

"Can not restore the registry only, because it is used for the OS version on the backup file, not on the device.¡§: 
Can not only restore registry when OS version is different.
	
"Can not perform the restoring, because the Flash type is 'J3 105ns', so you can only restore the OS where the version is 1.5.0.0 and newer.¡¨ : 
The data Flash type is "J3 105ns¡¨ can not use the OS which is version berfore 1.5.0.0 .

"Can not restore the file xx(Program path), because it is running. Click the 'OK' button to ignore the file and continue to restoring." : 
To remind user the xx program is running, so you can not restore the xx program in System_Disk.
